About NorthStone

NorthStone is an established Huntersville golf community built around NorthStone Country Club, founded in 1997. The club has an 18-hole P.B. Dye signature course on 237 acres, an indoor and outdoor golf studio, a four-pool aquatics complex, six tennis and four pickleball courts, a fitness center and clubhouse dining (NorthStone Country Club). Club access is through optional membership, and the neighborhood has its own HOA.

Homes date mostly from the late 1990s and early 2000s along sidewalk-friendly streets, minutes from Birkdale Village and Lake Norman. Tee times, swim meets and a ride over to see neighbors: that is what golf carts were made for.

We sell and service golf carts for people who drive these streets and paths every day, so we can help you pick a cart that fits your community, your passengers and the way you actually use it.

Life on a golf cart in NorthStone

Summer peaks with the July fireworks at NorthStone Country Club, visible across much of the neighborhood, and Bramborough Road along the golf course draws a crowd every year. Residents have a long history of an old fashioned Fourth of July parade too, lining up at the club and rolling down Cadgwith Cove Drive and NorthStone Drive.

The club also hosts a Spring Fling and a fall Blues, Brews and BBQ party, plus four pools, tennis, junior golf and swim team, so there is a lot of back and forth all summer. The NorthStone HOA has reminded residents about North Carolina golf cart requirements, so ride by the rules inside the neighborhood, and if you need public streets, we will help you figure out which you need.

How neighbors use golf carts in NorthStone

NorthStone families use golf carts for more than golf: rides to the four-pool aquatics complex, tennis and pickleball, dinner at the club, and the morning school bus stop. Community events are more fun when everyone rolls up together. Keep a licensed driver at the wheel and stick to private community roads or streets where your cart is legal, or go street-legal with an LSV.

Lithium battery conversions

Thirty-six holes on a summer Saturday is where lithium shines. A lithium golf cart battery conversion cuts weight, charges faster, adds range and means no more watering batteries. Many owners make the switch on the golf cart they already love, and we are glad to quote yours.

Golf cart rules and street-legal LSVs in NorthStone

In North Carolina, a golf cart can only go on public streets two ways: as a titled, registered and insured low speed vehicle (LSV) on roads posted 35 mph or less, or under a local golf cart ordinance where the town or county has adopted one (NCDOT model ordinance). NorthStone is in Huntersville. Town leaders chose not to adopt a golf cart street ordinance, and at the time the town manager noted that golf course neighborhoods like NorthStone typically use carts for golf on club property (Lake Norman Publications). We have not found a newer ordinance, so on some public streets a titled, registered and insured LSV may be required, and we will help you figure out which you need. On the course, follow your club’s cart rules.

Our street-legal LSV conversion page walks through the equipment, paperwork and steps in plain English.
