Golf Carts for Skybrook, Olmsted and the Eastfield Road Corridor

Skybrook is a golf course neighborhood where the HOA guidebook itself makes room for golf carts. From the Skybrook golf course to the pool at Olmsted, the neighborhoods along Eastfield Road were made for short, easy trips. Our Mount Holly home store is about 19 to 24 minutes away, a straight shot across on I-485, so a test drive or a service drop off fits right into your Saturday. Queen City Carts keeps it simple: honest answers, friendly people, and a golf cart that fits the way you live. It is our pleasure to help.

About the Eastfield Road corridor

Skybrook is a master planned golf community in Huntersville with an 18-hole championship course, a driving range, a clubhouse restaurant, two swim clubs, tennis, parks and trails (Skybrook). Skybrook North, including The Oaks at Skybrook North, shares those amenities.

Olmsted is a Pulte neighborhood off Eastfield Road with a clubhouse, lap pool with a waterslide, lighted tennis courts, walking trails, an 11-acre lake and nearly 80 acres of preserved green space (Pulte). Chisolm Creek is a smaller luxury enclave nearby.

The Courtyards at Eastfield Farm is an Epcon 55+ community at 14203 Eastfield Road with about 70 ranch homes, a clubhouse, fitness center and saltwater pool (55places). On the Charlotte side, Davis Lake-Eastfield and Prosperity Village round out the corridor around Prosperity Church Road and I-485.

Golf, the pool, the lake loop and a neighbor’s driveway: that is what golf carts were made for.

We sell and service golf carts for people who drive these streets and paths every day, so we can help you pick a cart that fits your community, your passengers and the way you actually use it.

Life on a golf cart in Skybrook and Eastfield Rd

The Historic Skybrook rules guidebook allows golf carts in the streets and common areas, while other powered vehicles are not allowed, and asks owners to keep carts in the garage when not in use. That makes the cart the everyday way to reach the Skybrook Golf Club, its Toptracer range and the swim and racquet club.

Summer centers on the Skybrook Swim and Racquet Club, open Memorial Day through Labor Day, with special hours and a pizza party on the Fourth of July. Along the Eastfield corridor, Olmsted, Chisolm Creek and the Courtyards at Eastfield Farm are close by. Public streets still follow North Carolina law, so an LSV may be required on some roads, and we will help you figure out which you need.

Get your permit: for public roads, NCDMV low speed vehicle title and registration. Not sure what you need? Call (704) 302-1200 and we will help.

How neighbors use golf carts in the Eastfield Road corridor

These are family neighborhoods, and a golf cart fits right into the daily routine: a ride to the school bus stop, then the pool at Olmsted or one of Skybrook’s two swim clubs, a round at Skybrook Golf Club, or a trip to the Courtyards clubhouse. When the community hosts events or a food truck night, a golf cart beats hunting for a parking spot. Keep a licensed driver at the wheel and stick to private community roads or streets where your cart is legal, or go street-legal with an LSV.

Lithium battery conversions

Long rounds at Skybrook and loops around the Olmsted lake are where lithium shines. A lithium golf cart battery conversion cuts weight, charges faster, adds range and means no more watering batteries. Many owners make the switch on the golf cart they already love, and we are glad to quote yours.

Golf cart rules and street-legal LSVs in the Eastfield Road corridor

In North Carolina, a golf cart can only go on public streets two ways: as a titled, registered and insured low speed vehicle (LSV) on roads posted 35 mph or less, or under a local golf cart ordinance where the town or county has adopted one (NCDOT model ordinance). Skybrook, Olmsted, Chisolm Creek and the Courtyards at Eastfield Farm are in Huntersville. Huntersville leaders chose not to adopt a golf cart street ordinance (Lake Norman Publications), and we have not found one since, so on some public streets a titled, registered and insured LSV may be required, and we will help you figure out which you need. Davis Lake-Eastfield and Prosperity Village are in Charlotte, where we have not found a golf cart permit program either. On the golf course and private community property, follow your club and HOA rules.

Our street-legal LSV conversion page walks through the equipment, paperwork and steps in plain English.
