Street-legal golf carts and LSVs in Rock Hill

In South Carolina, a registered low speed vehicle (LSV) that meets federal FMVSS 500 can run on roads posted 35 mph or less and cross faster roads at intersections. A regular golf cart needs an SCDMV permit decal and registration, proof of insurance and a licensed driver 16 or older, and where and when it can run depends on state law and local ordinance. We have not found a Rock Hill city ordinance that changes the state rules, so a permitted golf cart runs in daylight only, on secondary roads posted 35 mph or less, within four miles of its registered address. For more range, or to drive after dark, an LSV is the better choice.

Our street-legal LSV conversion page walks through the equipment, paperwork and steps in plain English.

Lithium battery conversions

Tired of watering batteries or running low halfway through the day? A lithium golf cart battery conversion cuts weight, charges faster and gives you more range. Many Rock Hill owners make the switch on the cart they already love.
