Under the Town of Cramerton golf cart ordinance (Chapter 77), carts must be registered with the Cramerton Police Department, with a yearly permit sticker, an inspection before the first registration and every year after, proof of ownership, liability insurance and a signed waiver of liability. Drivers must be 16 or older and carry a valid license. Carts may use only streets posted 35 mph or less, at no more than 20 mph, and may not drive on or alongside Wilkinson Boulevard (US 29/74) except to cross at a controlled intersection with a street posted 35 mph or less. No sidewalks, and greenways only where signs allow. Riding from dawn to dusk is fine. After dark you need two front lamps and a red rear lamp. Seats are one person per bucket seat or two per bench, and child restraints are required (Town of Cramerton ordinance). Note that motorized carts cannot ride the Goat Island Greenway unless it is signed for carts, so park downtown and walk over.
