How neighbors use golf carts in Cornelius
Golf carts still have a place in Cornelius: on private community roads, at the club and on lake property, for trips to the dock, the pool and community events. Cornelius bans golf carts on town streets, sidewalks and greenways, so for anything public, a registered LSV is the way to go.

Street-legal golf carts and LSVs in Cornelius
In North Carolina, a golf cart can only go on public streets two ways: as a titled, registered and insured low speed vehicle (LSV) on roads posted 35 mph or less, or under a local golf cart ordinance where the town has adopted one. In October 2025 the Town of Cornelius affirmed that unregistered golf carts are not allowed on town streets, sidewalks or greenways. A golf cart that is registered with the NCDMV as an LSV, inspected and insured can drive streets posted 35 mph or less. That is exactly the conversion we do.
Our street-legal LSV conversion page walks through the equipment, paperwork and steps in plain English.
Lithium battery conversions
Tired of watering batteries or running low halfway through the day? A lithium golf cart battery conversion cuts weight, charges faster and gives you more range. Many Cornelius owners make the switch on the cart they already love.
